•      Dr. Yang Liu received his medical degree at Xi'an Jiaotong Unviersity and then came to Second affileated hospital for his post-graduate surgical training. In 2017 was promoted to associate Professor of Surgery at Xi'an Jiaotong university and then he did hi postdoc training at Harvard universtiy, Boston, US. Dr. Yang's clinical areas of expertise are in gastroenterology surgery. The GI & general surgery department which he served has a high volume surgical practice involving the care of patients with gerontology diseases. His particular areas of interest are in minimally-invasive approaches to the treatment of abdominal cancer patients. Dr. Yang runs a highly productive research program focused on gut-liver axis. He has enjoyed extensive funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other sources and has made important advances to our understanding of how humans interact with the gut barrier within liver fibrosis and liver cancer. He has identified several novel treatment strategies designed to prevent and/or treat a variety of liver related diseases.
