Zhan Gao received his PhD in chemical engineering and technology from Tsinghua University, China in 2010 and in materials science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden in 2011. He worked with Prof. Scott A. Barnett at Northwestern University as a postdoctoral fellow from 2012 to 2015, and then worked as a research engineer in Plastic Omnium and Precision Combustion Inc from 2016 to 2019. He is currently a full professor at school of Chemical Engineering and Technology at Xi'an Jiaotong University (Xi'an). His research interests are development of high-performance reversible solid oxide cells for energy storage, experimental studies of solid oxide fuel cells including novel ceramic processing method, electrochemical characterization and identification of reaction mechanisms of SOFC electrodes. He has published more than 50 peer-reviews papers and patented 6 invention patents, and completed several national grants funded by USA and PRC.
