Wangshuyin received her Ph.D. in history from East China Normal University, and became an associate professor and master's supervisor at the Institute of Modern Chinese Studies at the School of Marxism at Xi'an Jiaotong University. Her main research areas are women/gender history in the Yan'an period and the history of material culture in modern China. She have won the second prize of the National University Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition, the first prize of the Shaanxi Provincial University Teaching Innovation Competition, the Shaanxi Provincial Ideological and Political Teaching Expert, and the second prize of the XJTU Teaching Competition. She have presided over a project of the National Social Science Fund of China, a project supported by Social Science Foundation of Shaanxi Province of China, a project of the Shaanxi Provincial Education Reform, a project supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities, and a special sub-project of the Ministry of Education's ideological and political courses. She have published more than 10 papers as the sole author (or first author) in CSSCI source journals such as People's Forum, Modern Chinese Literature Research Series, and Journal of Hebei Normal University. She is also a columnist for The Paper's "Private History" column, and have published a number of articles on new media history.
