Houzhang Tan received a B.S. in Power Engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1985, an M.A.Sc. in Fluid Machinery from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1988, and a Ph.D. in Thermal Engineering from the Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1998. He was the advanced researcher on coal combustion and fluid engineering in Xi’an Thermal Power Research Institute Co.,Ltd. from 1988-1995. He has undergone the postdoctor in Northwestern Polytechnical University from 1999-2000. In 2001 he joined the Department of Thermal Engineering in Xi’an Jiaotong University, as an associate professor until now.
