Prof. Fulin Shang received his BS (1992) in Engineering Mechanics and PhD (1996) in Solid Mechanics from Xi an Jiaotong University (XJTU), China. He joined the Thermal Power Research Institute of China in 1996 as an Engineer of Material Division and was promoted to Senior Engineer in 1998. From 2000-2001, he worked as a Humboldt Research Fellow at Freiberg University of Mining and Technology (TU Bergakademie Freiberg), Germany. From 2002-2005, he worked as a JSPS Research Fellow and later COE Researcher at Kyoto University, Japan. He joined XJTU in August 2005 as a Full Professor.

1996.6~2002.7：国家电力公司热工研究院，材料工程技术中心，工程师（1996.6~1997.12），高级工程师（1998.1~2002.7），副总工程师（2001.10~2002.7）； 

2000.2~2001.9：德国弗莱贝格工业大学，洪堡学者（TU Bergakademie Freiberg of Germany, Humboldt Fellow）； 

2002.8~2005.8：日本京都大学，日本学术振兴会研究员（JSPS Fellow），COE研究员； 

2005.8~至今：西安交通大学， 航天航空学院工程力学系，教授，博士生导师；
