Dr. Qiu got his PhD from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015. After that, he continues his research on high-temperature corrosion of structural materials under reactor extremes at the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, CAS and the University of California at Berkeley. As a backbone member, the applicant participated in several national and provincial projects, including: Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Thorium Molten Salt Reactor Nuclear Energy System), Key Project of Science and Technology of Shanghai, and Energy Frontier Research project found by the US Department of Energy (Fundamental Understanding of Transport Under Reactor Extremes). His research focuses on the corrosion mechanism of the candidate structural materials in high-temperature corrosive environments to support the research and development of Molten Salt Reactor (MSR), Lead-cooled Fast Reactor (LFR) and high-level nuclear waste supercontainer. Dr. Qiu has published more than 50 SCI papers, which were cited more than 1000+ in the past 5 years, and the h index is 21.
