Biography
Dr. Reza Masoudi Nejad is currently an Associate Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University, which he joined in July 2023 as a young talent scholar. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, in 2017. Following his graduation, he joined the School of Mechanical Engineering at Foolad Institute of Technology, Iran, as an Assistant Professor. From July 2019 to June 2023, he pursued a four-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). During this period, he was also awarded the International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship from the China Postdoctoral Council (CPC) in 2019. Dr. Masoudi Nejad has been recognized for his scholarly contributions, receiving the Certificate of Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing from Elsevier (Top 10 Reviewers) in 2015, 2016, and 2017. He also serves as a Guest Editor for Materials (IF = 3.2) and Forces in Mechanics (IF = 3.5), and as a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Advances in Welding and Joining. His international recognition includes being listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. With a strong research background, Dr. Masoudi Nejad has published over 110 peer-reviewed papers, with more than 2400 citations and an H-index of 34. His research interests focus on fatigue and fracture mechanics, structural integrity, and the durability of engineering materials.
