• You have your own goals and curiosity, and you are interested in doing meaningful work—not just checking off boxes;

• You are dependable, detail-oriented, and take responsibility for your time and work—you don't need someone constantly checking on you;

• You are open-minded, sincere, and honest—comfortable speaking up and willing to listen;

• You respect others and feel free to share your thoughts; you are open to discussion, feedback, and collaborative problem-solving;

• We expect a solid foundation in English, physical reasoning, hands-on skills, mathematical modeling, and programming;

• You do not need to be an expert from day one, but we hope you are willing to learn, try, and stick with it.

• We uphold academic integrity and respect originality. Authorship is assigned fairly and transparently—those who contribute most are listed as first authors. I’ve never taken credit for a student’s work, and never will.
• We don’t believe in box-ticking approach, but we do expect you to build professional practice through your research: communicating effectively, managing your time, and taking initiative, instead of just reacting passively.
• Student supervision is not one-way system. You're encouraged to speak up. What you say may not always be perfect—but staying silent means missing out on moments of insight.
• I’m not a hand-holding advisor, nor an absentee one. You're expected to ask questions and share your ideas—but execution is your responsibility. We’ll work one-on-one, and your input drives the discussion.
• Research is rarely linear, and it won’t bring a sense of achievement every single day. What matters is whether you can stay with something challenging and meaningful—instead of chasing quick wins.
• So no, we don't tolerate coasting, and we also don’t believe in pressure-cooker work culture. I care about whether you're thinking, moving forward, and growing through the process.
• You’ll be encouraged to attend academic conferences, and we provide support for at least one international (overseas) conference per student.
• We support students who wish to pursue PhDs, go abroad, or engage in joint training programs. The resources and networks are there—what matters is your willingness to grow.

• 不搞“形式主义”，但希望你能在学习科研过程中逐渐建立起专业习惯和职业态度，比如沟通反馈、时间管理、主动承担，而不是推一下动一下；
• 带学生不是“导师说、大家听”的一言堂，讨论对我们来说是双向的：你说的不一定都对，但不说一定错过了能闪光的机会；
• 没有“保姆式导师”也没有“隐形导师”。问题欢迎问，想法欢迎提，但执行还是靠你自己；1对1辅导，带着思考问题和反馈来讨论；
• 科研过程不总是线性的，也不会天天都“有成就感”。我更看重的是你能否坚持去做一些有挑战、有意义的事情，而不是一味求“快速产出”；
• 因此不希望你“混着过”，也不会“卷着压”。我会关注你是否认真思考、是否持续推进、是否在成长；
• 鼓励参加国内外学术会议，并为每位学生提供至少一次出境国际会议支持；
• 鼓励读博、出国、联合培养，资源与渠道可以帮你落实，关键在于你是否想去、想成长；
