AbstractWe report herein that an anionic metal–organic framework [Mn5(izdc)3(ox)3] can adsorb uranyl in water with high selectivity (Kd = 2041 mL·g−1), large capacity (523 mg· g−1) and fast dynamics (KS = 6.68 × 10−3 mg·g−1·min−1). Grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation reveals that the coordination effect between the carboxylate O atoms and the equatorial position of the uranyl ion is the key behind this high-performance.
