Summary:
As one of most widely used power units, diesel engine has been paying an increasing attention on its condition monitoring and fault diagnosis. Due to the complexity of its structure and working mechanism, the monitoring and diagnosis of diesel engine becomes rather difficult. A novel chromatometry based time domain processing method is introduced to implement the diagnosis of diesel engine in this paper. The principle of the method is expounded. In the mean time, the application of the method in discriminating the different engine conditions with vibration signals collected from the surface of cylinder block is presented. The application result indicates that the proposed method has good performance and potential perspective in condition monitoring.
