The Inside Back Cover picture shows a promising high-temperature alkaline direct formate fuel cell operated in the absence of added hydroxide. The feasibility of the hydroxide self-feeding high-temperature alkaline direct formate fuel cell is mainly attributed to the hydrolysis of formate that provides enough OH^− ions for the formate oxidation reaction.
