- Summary:
- The thermoelastic problem of an infinite functionally graded body with a cylindrical
cavity whose surface suffers time-dependent thermal shock in the context of type II
and type III of Green-Naghdi theories is studied by using finite element method in time
domain directly. The thermal and mechanical properties of functionally graded solid
under consideration are assumed to vary as the power of the radial coordinate. The
results, including temperature, stresses, and displacements are presented graphically and
the results are also analyzed. The effects of functionally graded parameter and the
damping coefficient CK in type III of Green–Naghdi theories are also studied.
