Delighted to have attended the ICSB-China (International Society for Computational Biology - China Council) invitation-only symposium on the theme of 'AI with Bioscience' in Bali, Indonesia, where I presented recent work from the group: the currently-under-review ANNEVO, a genomic language model for rapid and accurate ab initio gene prediction across the entire tree of life. This tool enables genome annotation to be achieved - with no compromise to quality - in coffee or lunch break durations: c. 3 minutes for the 120 Mb Arabidopsis thaliana genome and approx. an hour for the 2.7 Gb rat.
