Title of Paper:
Application of the modified infinite element method to two-dimensional transient acoustic radiation
Journal:
Applied Acoustics
Summary:
By introducing the concept of modified sound pressure, Helmholtz’ equation is converted
into another form of differential equation. On this basis, an infinite element approach is proposed
to solve transient acoustic radiation in unbounded domain by establishing a new type
of shape function, which does not need a wave-like factor. Numerical tests indicate that this
approach is free from ‘‘rule of thumb’’ mesh adjustments.
