Summary:
Magnetic Characteristics ofaxial magnetic field (AMF)offour kinds ofvacuum interrupter contacts are
studied with 3D finite element method, which included axial magneticflux density, eddycurrentin contactplates
and phase shift time between AMFand source current. FourAMFvacuuminterruptercontactsarestudied,which
include coil type, cuptype, bipolar type andquadrapolar type. The results show that: 1) The strongest AMFat (a)Coiltype (b)Cuptype currentpeakis withcoil typecontact.It followsbybipolar type, cup type, quadrapolar type with which AMF
weakensaccordingly.2) TheweakestAMFatcurrentzero is withquadrapolartypecontact.Itfollowsbybipolartype,
cup type, coil type with which AMF strengthens accordingly. 3) The shortest phase shift time is with bipolartype. It follows byquadrapolartype, coil type, cup type with which phase shift time becomes higher accordingly.
