    and vibrationpropertiesofthepumparestudiedexperimentally.Theworkingmechanism
    of thepumpisanalyzed firstly,andthenstructuraldesignandkinematictheoryare
    modeledbyusingtwodifferentcoordinatesystems.Nonlinearkinematicconstraint
    equationsaredevelopedusingageneralizedcomputationalmethodforspatialkinematic
    analysis.Theseequationsaresolvedtoyieldthedisplacement,angularvelocityand
    accelerationpropertiesofmotionpartswithdifferentstructuralparameters.Soundand
    vibration characteristicsofthesphericalpumpandtraditionalsolenoidpumpsarestudied
    experimentallyatdifferentrotatingspeedsof1000,1500,2000,2500and3000rev/min.
    Resultsindicatethatsoundpressurelevelsoftheproposedsphericalarereducedto
    40.7dB(A),whichare11.1dB(A)lowerthanthetraditionalsolenoidpump's51.8dB(A)at
    the ratedoperatingconditions.Thesoundspectraareanalyzedindetailinorderto
    investigatethecauses,whicharestructuralpatternandworkingmechanisms.Thepro-
    posedsphericalpumphasmanyadvantagesandcanbeutilizedasasubstituteforother
    pumpsinsomespecial fields, suchashospitalfacilitiesandhouseholdappliances.
